Play fair

• Be kind to other players, to the organizers and to the conference venue.
• Do not attack this site, other players or the conference network.
• Flags look like bsides{some_words_here}.
• Sharing hints is fine. Sharing flags with other teams is not.

The venue and the campus

• Never move, climb or touch landmarks, signs or cameras. Every clue can be solved from the ground.
• Stay out of closed rooms and areas that are not open to attendees.
• Put back anything you pick up.

OSINT rules of engagement

OSINT challenges use public sources only. Every answer can be found without crossing these lines.

• Use only publicly available information.
• Never contact, message or follow the subject of a challenge, their family or their employer.
• Do not look for home addresses or family details, and do not publish any you come across.
• Do not create accounts just to view something. If a source needs one, it is not the intended path.

Host-judged challenges

Some challenges are judged by a person, not by a flag. Show your proof to an organizer at the DC940 CTF Table and they will confirm it for you.

The welcome card

Welcome cards are loaners. Once you have solved yours, please return it to the DC940 CTF Table so the next player can use it.

Help and enforcement

• Organizers at the DC940 CTF Table can help with account problems.
• Organizers may remove an account that breaks these rules.
